This is the Information and Registration Webpage for the Mankind Project USA Gathering of Elders 2013 (MKP USAGE), sponsored by the MKP USA Elder Council and the Philadelphia Community of the Mankind Project USA. It will be our ninth gathering, and it’s shaping up to be very exciting indeed!

We welcome ALL elders (men and women with 50 years or more of life experience) to attend the MKP USAGE! Come and join elder brothers from The Mankind Project International (MKPI) and MKP USA, elder women from Woman Within and Women in Power organizations, as well as men and women from all walks of life as, together, we share wisdom, explore how we want to move into our future in meaningful and productive ways, and celebrate who we are at this time of our lives.

This is a very special gathering of men and women who are curious about what it is to be an elder. Eldership in past times was not merely the attainment of a particular age in years, but a state of being, something like an office, but particularly a recognition that a person had reached a point in life where the wealth of their experience became a welcome resource to the community, and as such, might be referred to, by those who had benefitted from it, as wisdom.

We invite you to look through these web pages, beginning with our Logistics page, to get an overview of our event. Read about this gathering, see who our presenters are, and decide if it interests you and your spouse/partner. Don’t fret if you are not affiliated with The ManKind Project, Woman Within, or Women in Power, you are nonetheless absolutely welcome to come and spend a day or a whole weekend with men and women from these organizations who are studying eldership.

This year’s gathering of elders takes us northwest of Philadelphia to the pastoral landscape of the Deer Park Campground and Retreat Center in historic New Hope. The peaceful beauty of this wooded campground will remind many of us of the settings so many of us enjoyed in previous Elder Gatherings. The thrill of Fall colors in New England is legendary, and this natural setting is a perfect place to drink in the painterly hues of autumn.

USAGE 2013 will take place Thursday through Sunday, September 26 – 29, 2013, at the Deer Park Campground and Retreat Center near New Hope, PA and at a nearby Ramada Inn. The campground is located about an hour from the Philadelphia airport.
